Beach Cities AI Ask Adam

Promptly Human — a common-sense approach to AI

AI help from a neighbor, not a help desk.

One-on-one sessions in Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo and around the South Bay. We use the phone or laptop you already own, work on something from your actual life, and skip the jargon entirely.

Things people actually ask

“”

That's all it is. You type a plain sentence.

If you can say what you want out loud, you can already do this. The rest is knowing which questions get useful answers — and which answers to double-check.

What we work on

Start with whichever one you need

Most people arrive with one specific frustration. We start there.

Understanding dense paperwork

Insurance letters, Medicare notices, contracts, HOA rules. AI can restate a document in everyday words so you know what to ask about. It doesn't replace your doctor or attorney — it helps you talk to them.

Spotting scams and fake voices

Cloned voices on the phone, fake bank texts, convincing videos of people you recognize. We go through the warning signs until noticing them is second nature.

Writing that sounds like you

A hard email to a family member, a note of sympathy, a complaint you want taken seriously. Using AI as a sounding board changed how I write — that's the part I most want to pass on.

Making things for the grandkids

A short birthday video, a story with their name in it, a picture of the dog on the moon. Ten minutes of work, and they'll ask how you did it.

How it works

Three steps, at your pace

  1. Tell me what’s frustrating

Call, text, or email and describe the problem in your own words. The first 15 minutes on the phone are free — we work out whether I can help, then settle on a time and a place.

  2. We pick one real thing

Not a course. One item from your own life: the letter on the counter, the video for your granddaughter, the text you're not sure about.

  3. We do it together, on your device

You hold the phone. I sit beside you. We repeat it as many times as you like, and you leave able to do it on your own.

The plain details

No packages, no subscriptions

Everything we use has a free version that runs in a web browser. I do all of my own work on devices under $500, so the honest answer to “do I need a new phone for this?” is almost always no.

  • First callFree 15 minutes on the phone, no obligation
  • Rate$50 an hour, paid per session
  • No commitmentBook one hour or many — nothing to sign up for
  • WhereYour home, a coffee shop, or a video call
  • What you needThe phone, tablet, or laptop you already own
  • Who I amAdam — I plan large corporate events for a living, and I’ve been the person colleagues come to with AI questions for years

Try it now

Can you spot the fake?

Three questions. Pick an answer and you'll see why. This is the sort of thing a first session covers.

Your grandson calls, sounding upset. He says he's in trouble and needs money right now. What do you do first?

A voice can be cloned from a few seconds of audio. Hanging up and calling back on a number you already have costs one minute and defeats the whole scam. A real emergency survives a call back.

An email from “Netflix” says your account is locked and you have 24 hours to verify your identity. What gives it away?

Urgency is the tool — it's there to stop you thinking. Real companies don't put a clock on you, and their address matches their real website. When unsure, go to the site yourself instead of clicking.

Is it safe to type your Social Security number or bank password into an AI assistant so it can keep it on file?

Treat it like a helpful librarian. Ask it anything you like, but don't hand over your house keys. Nothing we do together requires a single private number.
